Take part in a world record attempt
13/06/2018 Festival

On 22nd July 2018, at the legendary Ealing Blues Festival, Brain Tumour Research and  Blackstar Amplification wiil attempt to set a new Guinness World Record!
The record for the largest electric guitar ensemble was set in India in 2013 with 368 participants – we are aiming for at least 400 and will be playing 'Heroes' by David Bowie (full album version) approx 6 minutes long.
This attempt is being organised by me, Dave Pile, a life-long guitar player. I lost my mum to a brain tumour in 2013. So the aim is not only to smash the world record, but also raise as much money as possible for Brain Tumour Research. All profits made will go straight to @braintumourrschenabling vital research into this woefully underfunded form of cancer. Just 1% of the national spend goes to this devastating disease!
Guinness World Records have officially accepted my application to make this attempt and so now we need your help in making it happen. We need as many enthusiastic electric guitarists as possible willing to take part and blow the existing record out the water!!
We are asking all electric guitarists to register on this page. This not only includes a donation to Brain Tumour Research but will also entitle you to the following:

  • A New Blackstar Fly 3 micro amplifier (including batteries) to take home!
  • T shirt (to mark the event)
  • FREE day entry to the blues festival
  • The opportunity to make history and break a world record! We do ask that you bring your own electric guitar and a lead (sorry, no acoustic electric guitars)
