Upgraded insider software to latest version 1.7.9.179, installs without error.

However, when I try to run the app I get error dialog 'This operation could not be completed (osstatus error -5000)'.

Platform iMac running OSX 10.10, security settings configured to 'allow install app from anywhere'

Anyone know how to fix the issue?

[Update]
Deleted and re-installed INSIDER.

I now get following error at install:

Sysyem extension cannot be used
The system extension “/System/Library/Extensions/BlackstarIDCore32.kext” was installed improperly and cannot be used. Please try reinstalling it, or contact the product’s vendor for an update.

I get the same error message(s) randomly during normal usage while my mac is connected via usb to the amp.

/System/Library/Extensions/BlackstarIDCore32.kext
/System/Library/Extensions/BlackstarIDCoreHP32.kext
/System/Library/Extensions/BlackstarIDCoreHP64.kext

Other times, the Amp simulated knobs in the software "glitch" (for a lack of better term) and I suddenly cannot adjust the knob values with my mouse pointer. The values will jump from either 0, or to 10 and nothing in between. Normal usage will resume when the software is restarted, other times a brute end process is required within Mac's Activity Monitor. I have noticed if I delete the patch and recreate it, the problem goes away. If I use the same corrupted patch , change amp values and save, the issues follow over with the newly saved / updated patch.

Hey guys,

Hope you're all well!

With regards to these error messages, here's a couple of processes that should resolve the problems and get your INSIDER software back up and running!

‘IDCORE32.ktext’

Anything in Bold Italics should be typed EXACTLY into Terminal (or copied and pasted from this email to avoid errors):

- Close any running INSIDER app and power off any connected amplifier.
- Open the Terminal app and type the following: sudo chmod –R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/BlackstarIDCore32.kext
- Press enter, then enter user password when prompted and press enter. There won’t be any visual result to the user, so carry on to the next step.
- Next, type the following into the Terminal app: sudo chown –R root:wheel /System/Library/Extensions/BlackstarIDCore32.kext
- Press enter. It may not ask for the password a second time, but if it does enter it and press enter. There won’t be any visual result to the user, so carry on to the next step.
- Restart the Mac, then power on the amplifier and launch INSIDER to see if it has worked.

‘OSStatus Error-5000’

The latest release of INSIDER may have been affected by the permissions of your Mac OS, thus preventing INSIDER from functioning correctly. To rectify this, please complete the following:

- Open finder, then in the taskbar click - 'Go' - and choose - 'Go to Folder...' - then copy and paste the following line for the directory: ~/Library/Application Support/Microsoft/Silverlight/OutOfBrowser
- There will more than likely be a folder with a red logo in the bottom corner. This highlights the fact that your Mac is preventing access to the folder.
- Right click this folder, and select – ‘Get Info’.
- Scroll down to – ‘Sharing & Permissions’ – and enable access to ‘Read and Write’. Ensure this access is granted either to ‘Everyone’, or to the user profile you are using if more than one exists. (You may need to unlock the parameters in order to this, which can be done via the padlock found at the bottom right of the Get Info window.)

Please note: the ‘~’ is very important. There should be at least one folder whose name is a series of numbers followed by ‘.localhost’. E.g. ‘3410321256.localhost’.

Hope this helps, but if the issue persists please let us know!

Tommy

What do I type into Terminal for the BlackstarIDCoreHP64.kext error?

Based on your previous suggestions, I would presume :

sudo chmod –R 755 /System/Library/Extensions/BlackstarIDCoreHP64.kext

Please advise.

Thanks!

I have not heard back regarding the last post, and I tried Tommy's suggestion which yielded the following results:
