Hi there,

I've recently replaced the stock speaker from my Blackstar Ht-1 and i feel it got a lot better after loaded with a Jensen C8R!! It's not that the stock speaker is a bad one, but i don't know, i think i can hear more brighter sound with a bit more treble and clarity. I am not a specialist but i think that the power handling difference may have affected the way it sounds, since the Jensen is a 25W speaker against 15W Blackstar speaker. I think it sounds closer to something like a Celestion to my ears. Overall it was a good and reasonable investment that i really recommend, the speakers look and sound very nice. Also, i made a MOD to this amp in order to use the new internal speaker not only for the combo itself, but i also made the speaker available to be used by any external amplifier head by using a switch(ON/ON), a P10 Jack and a couple new wiring. So now my Blackstar Ht-1 can be used normally as a Combo or as a 1x8' cabinet! I hope you enjoy the MOD and the speaker replacement, i am not a professional, i tried my best, and i am not sure if this is going to work properly forever, but its so good so far :D

Nice hack! Whatever works - it’s nice to have the option of using an external cabinet - a low wattage amp can sound huge through a big cabinet.
