My name is Andy and I've been playing guitar for a year and a half. I've started and stopped trying to learn over the years and I've finally stayed with it using Rocksmith 2014's 60 day challenge getting me through the most painful part of learning to play guitar. Since September I've been working on my technique and speed, getting an amp is definitely an integral part of that. My work lets me play in the conference room on my lunches, if no one is in there. This is another key to sticking with it as nights can be hectic with raising a family.
I'm married and live in a condo so I opted for the ID: Core 10 and I love it. I play through it with my Epi LP Standard Plustop Pro and my Epi SG G400 Pro. I actually prefer the weight of the LP, but the SG is nice to have on the stand in my bedroom.
I am really graduating from using Rocksmith 2014 for all my playing to playing along with backing or the original tracks for hard and heavy rock music from the 60s forward. I'm a big fan of Def Leppard, Judas Priest, and Lamb of God.
I attend rock shows at the Hampton Casino Ballroom, here in NH. If you live nearby, let me know if you'd like to meet up at a show and have a few brews.
For those of you still awake, thanks for reading.
