Basically I love the sound of valve amps. Solid state amps aren't the same are they? Something 'lacking'. However truly fed up with the cost and pain of valves going, stupid hissy noises and the weight of the dam things I checked out the ID. Blimey. Came as a bit of a shock how good it sounded. Bought the ID 60 head, the 2x12 HT Cab and sold The Orange and Marshall gear. My back says 'thank you Bob'.
(I still think Blackstar are telling fibs and it is full of valves!)
In addition I have always HATED modelling amps. BUT I love the idea and design of the ID. A selection of crunch/distortion is simple and the different valve emulations does bring some very nice variety. Until I get round to working out the programming I just settled for turning round and twiddling on Saturday night!
Top amp guys.
Tell everyone about your background and why you chose Blackstar
