I finally installed a pair of WGS Veteran 30 speakers(8ohm) into my HT-60 and I am very pleased with the result! The V30 are FAR better than the stock Celestion Seventy-80's. To me they just sound more "musical", with greater detail and depth.
After hearing the difference between the Veteran 30's and the Celestions, I think that Blackstar should really consider going with WGS or Eminence for the HT Venue series. They could give customers a superior speaker and save some money in the production cost as well(the Seventy-80 costs $10 more at retail than the Veteran 30).

I accidentally ordered the 8ohms instead of the 16ohms. Shouldn't really make much of a difference. Plus, it might give me a little more headroom.

How would it give you more headroom?

Who knows. That's just what the guy at WGS told me.

I've been playing on trying some warehouse speakers for a while now. Just waiting for some money to come through.

Was there any reason you chose the vet 30's? I've been thinking for a long time about trying 1 vet or retro 30 and 1 reaper (or other greenback type clone).. it's hard to decide. I live in Australia so getting them shipped a long way. Still cheaper then Celestions though. I'm sure I'll love the sound of them just trying to work out the best combo.

You had a great idea about Blackstar and using these speakers. It would have saved me alot of time and trouble if they did this.
