Re: Any MODS for the HT1R ?

Removing the back of the HT1 is not to difficult, First remove all the black headed screws, Secondly remove the handle as 2 of the screws go into the amps chassis, Now this is the fiddly part as the back panel usually sticks to the black tolex/vinyl where it's been screwed down, but with a bit of ge...

Re: Use of Microphone.

Your Rode microphone needs to be powered by a 48 volt phantom power unit.

Re: HT1 No sound

You mention that when you connect an external speaker it works perfectly, so I wonder if it could be the external speaker jack that is at fault? When you connect a speaker lead in the output jack it automatically disconnects the internal speaker and as you say the amp has been stored in a cold envir...

Re: ipad to HT1 connection

Simple, all you need is a 3.5mm stereo jack to 6.35 stereo jack lead to connect from your iPad headphone socket to your HT-1 MP3/Line in socket, there's loads on eBay.

Re: BlackStar HT-1R

I think the new (yet to be released) 10th Anniversary Edition combos look interesting especially the Series One version, it's like a grown up HT-1, the top panel is set out exactly the same with Gain, Vol, ISF and Reverb.

Knowing how loud the HT-5 can get these 10 watt'ers may be just the ticket!

Re: HT-1R Combo: Best Speaker replacement?

Glad you got it sorted, yep that back panel does get a bit sticky.

Let us know how you get on once you've given the Celestion a work out!

Re: HT-1R Combo: Best Speaker replacement?

Yes the Celestian is definitely a "step up" over the stock speaker and very affordable (think it was less than £25 incl postage), it only takes 30 mins or so to swap out.
Can't imagine after fitting the Celestian you'd want to go back to the Blackbird IMHO.

Re: HT-1R Combo: Best Speaker replacement?

I fitted a Celestian Eight 15 to my HT1-R so can't comment on other speakers and I'm more than happy with it. Personally I don't care much for EQ pedals mainly because of the amount of "white noise" they can produce which I find un-acceptable. To brighten up mine I run a Blackster LT Boost pedal for...

Re: Blackstar HT-5 = the best 5W amp I have ever used

Yes GWB it's normal for the EQ section to only work on the overdrive channel. You'll have to use an EQ pedal to get more out of the clean channel, personally I don't care much for EQ pedals as such just because of the amount of "white noise" they can create. I have an HT1-R and run a Blackstar LT Bo...
