Re: can someone please answer me ...

Remember, a "class" is just a system of operation, it does not reflect the sound quality of the amp.

I have got a good "Black Album" tone while using Tung-sol 12AX7's and two WGS Veteran 30 speakers.

Re: NEWBIE QUESTION - My First Tube Amp - HT Stage 60

Greetings All! Is there a place to check out a listing of some settings that people have tried and liked on the HT Stage 60? Well, what type of music will you be playing? Blackstar does provide a short list of recommended settings here... http://www.blackstaramps.co.uk/products/ht-amps/ht-60h-setti...

Re: NEWBIE QUESTION - My First Tube Amp - HT Stage 60

Hate to burst your bubble but it's not really a tube amp. The preamp is almost completely solid state. That is a silly statement and completely untrue. The Blackstar's have some opamps and other solid-state components in the pre-amp section, but they are not involved in clipping(according to Blacks...

Re: I opened my HT-60 to check out the guts...

Can someone chime in and comment on the quality of this and anything that looks like it should be upgraded? Well, the resistors are all SMT, so they would be difficult to replace. Probably the biggest improvement would be made by replacing the capacitors. The ones that come standard are pretty medi...

Re: Pre-amp tube shootout this weekend.

Hey OP! Can you at least give us some written feedback? I know posting clips can be a pain so how about a quick written review? Well, I tried to do the shootout this past weekend using the amp's speaker emulated output. For clean tones it is fine, but for OD it is absolutely horrid. Very fuzzy and ...

Congrats man http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_cheers.png , what made you choose 8 ohm though..... http://illiweb.com/fa/i/smiles/icon_scratch.png I accidentally ordered the 8ohms instead of the 16ohms. Shouldn't really make much of a difference. Plus, it might give me a little more headroom. How...

Re: Suggestion for first Blackstar amp

I have the HT-60 Stage and its a great amp... once you switch out the pre-amp tubes and speakers. The stock speakers and tubes leave a lot to be desired. The WGS Veteran 30's are clones of the Celestion Vintage 30 that are used in high-end Marshall/Mesa cabinets but have improved tonal response and ...

WGS Veteran 30's- They sound amazing!

I finally installed a pair of WGS Veteran 30 speakers(8ohm) into my HT-60 and I am very pleased with the result! The V30 are FAR better than the stock Celestion Seventy-80's. To me they just sound more "musical", with greater detail and depth. After hearing the difference between the Veteran 30's an...
