Re: Is ht-40 real tube amp?

I had two biggish amps an Orange 2x12 Rockerverb 50 MKII Combo (a real tube amp  ) and the HT-40. I sold the HT-40 and bought a Roland Micro-Cube for practicing in the evenings at low volumes, its great fun and not a tube in sight !

Re: Is ht-40 real tube amp?

I just reply to other threads. I do not complay - I wrote about my experiences with ( forum we have got for it ) ht-40 etc. It is not my fault that some do not want to agree with me and start abusing me. I am kind to other and just shared my experiences - other are angry with me because they do not...

Re: Is ht-40 real tube amp?

Zibolt - you have started 3 threads complaining about your HT-40 OD channel but you have failed to take any advice. Its time you gave it a rest and let everyone who enjoys the amp get on with their lives. Take the amp back or sell it but stop starting threads and repeating yourself over and over :ro...

Re: My settings for eliminating harshness and thin sound of the overdrive channel on ht-40

Mine sounds fine - like a real tube amp, and I've had a few ! The phase inversion section in an amp is important in that it must have the power to drive the output tubes to distortion without distorting itself. Distortion in the phase inversion section doesn't usually sound very pretty. Using solid ...

Re: My settings for eliminating harshness and thin sound of the overdrive channel on ht-40

don't worry about phase inversion, its just a type of amp design. I don't know what else to suggest to be honest. My HT-40 sounds great even loud.

Re: My settings for eliminating harshness and thin sound of the overdrive channel on ht-40

My HT-40 and many other people's HT-40's sound great - have you tested yours against another one like I suggested ? You may have a fault in yours, it certainly doesn't sound right to me judging on your descriptions. The lack of a 3rd tube is because this amp doesn't use a tube for phase inversion. T...

Re: My settings for eliminating harshness and thin sound of the overdrive channel on ht-40

I swapped to a Vintage 30 and it helped reduce some harshness. The stock speaker isn't that bad once it has been broken in a bit. The V30 is better but it still had to be broken in before it sounded really smooth.

Re: HT-1 Tube Replacement

Well I guess the Mullard re-issues are just using whatever is available and re-labeling them. This happens a lot these days. I have a Mullard and LPS and they are exactly the same in every way. I don't see how you can tell they are the same without disassembling them and testing the composition of ...
